The FNDDS collection policy consists of three levels of inclusion. The first level includes items actively sought after such as documents on the topic of land claims and Aboriginal title in the Canadian context. The second level includes items that require appraisal such as documents on other First Nations issues in the Canadian context as well as documents on land claims and Aboriginal title in an international context. The third level includes Items that are outside the scope of the collection such as mainstream documents and general materials on international Aboriginal issues. All documents submitted must be on the topic of land claims, Aboriginal title and Canadian First Nations issues. Admissible documents include: Primary Sources • Court Decisions • Legislation • Treaties • Claims Policies Secondary Sources • Research Guides • Instructional Resources Copyright For any copyrighted material submitted for inclusion in FNDDS, the submitter must hold clear copyright or have specific permission to freely distribute the document(s) via FNDDS. Permission for use form must be included with all documents submitted. Documents that are clearly in the public domain may also be submitted. Acceptable Electronic formats: PDF, HTML, or scanned TIFF images Word documents (.doc, .txt, etc.) only if it is the original Print documents will be accepted, but electronic versions are preferred Language: English or French Unacceptable No duplicates of documents already in FNDDS No faxes No personal notes/works/correspondence/research No unpublished, original works No documents with limited legibility Disclaimer All documents submitted will be reviewed and are subject to rejection/removal at the discretion of the CRU Research Directors and FNDDS maintenance staff.
