- Item is a photograph of the Fifth Special Assembly of the Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs that was held at the Sheraton Landmark in Vancouver, British Columbia from November 24th to the 25th, 1978. The photograph is an interior snapshot of a conference room with rows chairs in the left background. In the centre is a elderly man wearing a fedora hat and eye glasses and windbreaker jacket. His arms are folded. Behind him a younger gentleman with a mustache is standing and holding his jacket. Caption in UBCIC News vol. 7, no. 1: Aboriginal Rights means that we have the right, in the Canadian Constitution, to govern through our own unique form of Indian Government (Band Councils).
