Item is a photograph of a Central Inter-Tribal Council Workshop in Kamloops. Photograph is an interior snapshot of people seated in chairs set in two rows in a gymnasium. Most of the people are seated in the back row. The man on the far left sitting in the second row is seated sideways, facing right. He has his legs crossed and writes in a notebook which is on his lap. The next man in the second row has turned his chair completely around and is facing those in the back row, as has the person on the far right second row. On the floor of those seated in the far left are spiral bound books, loose papers and a small plate.

Context

The Central Interior Tribal Council, consisting of Ktunaxa Nation Council (Kootenay Indian District Council), Okanagan Tribal Council, and South Central Tribal Councils and representatives from the Lillooet Tribal Council, was formed as a joint negotiating and advisory council in response to unsatisfactory service delivery from the Department of Indian Affairs.
