- Item is a photograph of two boats on waters near Gold River, British Columbia. The photograph is a snapshot of a tugboat moving through the water followed by another boat in the distance. Behind the boats in the background of the image there is land visible although some of it is obscured by fog or low clouds. On the right side of the image there may be part of a log boom that belongs to the Tahsis Company Ltd. pulp mill which is located near the water.

- Context
- Gold River was constructed in the 1960s to house families for the newly constructed Tahsis Company Ltd. pulp mill, located where the mouth of the Gold River meets Muchalat Inlet. Pollution from the pulp mill soon became a problem causing health issues for nearby residents and interfering with fishing. The Tahsis Company Ltd. pulp mill no longer exists.
