The snapshot shows the green, yellow and orange structure next to some water. There are trees and a mountain in the background of the image as well as cut logs beached on the shoreline.

Context

Gold River was constructed in the 1960s to house families for the newly constructed Tahsis Company Ltd. pulp mill, located where the mouth of the Gold River meets Muchalat Inlet. Pollution from the pulp mill soon became a problem causing health issues for nearby residents and interfering with fishing. The Tahsis Company Ltd. pulp mill no longer exists.
