Item is a photograph of a Demonstration at BC Hydro against the proposed coal-fired power plant in Hat Creek. Photograph is an interior snapshot of one side of a board room; people are seated around a partially visible board table. George Manuel on the central right side; he has short wavy hair and horn rimmed glasses and is wearing a Cowichan type sweater. B.C. Hydro proposed the development of a coal-powered power plant in Hat Creek, B.C., known as the "Hat Creek Project". The proposed site was close to Bonaparte Reserve, Cornwall, Pavilion, Deadman’s Creek, Fountain and Bridge River Reserves. Concerns arose regarding the environmental impacts and the imposition of inherent Aboriginal water rights.
